RFI and RADIO ASTRONOMY
WHY DO WE NEED RF FILTERING? Great question! The answer is simple, perhaps you’ve read about or experienced the increasing satellite population or, experienced unwanted signals showing up on your observations? As time progresses, more aggressive action will be required.
BAND-PASS FILTER (BPF) - Filter that passes signals within a certain frequency range and attenuates signals outside that range. A well designed BPF will have a tight Q (The Q factor defines how selective as to the bandwidth).
RADIO ASTRONOMY – When Radio Astronomy research demands valid, clean data, the BPF is the required tool, to ensure that unwanted interference such as, local terrestrial or any other interference does not enter the radio telescope receiver.
SEE PRODUCT PAGE FOR BPF FILTER SELECTION
